Project Overview

This project is about a fabric texture innovation using knitting skills. I try to create a new surface texture form with basic stocking stitch knitting technic.

What is stocking stitch?

Stocking stitch is the most basic method in the bar knitting technique, and through repeated knitting, it exhibits uniform and cyclic texture features. This knitting method is commonly used in sweaters, scarves, and other flat-lined wool products.

How to create a new surface texture with this basic knitting technic?

Using the natural curling characteristics of stocking stitch, to create a small triangle shape as a unique module and repeat it, in this way a new texture is formed, which is three-dimensional and shows the impressive decorative effect.
